Volleyball Recap: Rifle Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rifle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Steamboat Springs Sailors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Sailors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in September.

Rifle took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-10, 25-17.

Jasmin Abarca Holbrook paced Rifle's offense, picking up six kills. Abarca Holbrook got some help from Kensee Boyd and her eight assists.

Leading Steamboat Springs to victory were Macee Wettlaufer and Sammy Coleman. Wettlaufer had 14 digs and two assists, while Coleman had seven digs and four aces. That's the most aces Coleman has posted since back in September.

Rifle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Steamboat Springs, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Rifle will head out to face off against Eagle Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Steamboat Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
