Basketball Game Preview: Kennebunk Rams vs. Sanford Spartans

The Kennebunk Rams will head out on the road to take on the Sanford Spartans at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Kennebunk will be strutting in after a win while Sanford will be coming in after a loss.

Last Tuesday, Kennebunk was able to grind out a solid victory over Westbrook, taking the game 61-54.

Meanwhile, Sanford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 83-68 fall against Cheverus. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Stags are ranked tenth).

Kennebunk is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Sanford, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.

Kennebunk came up short against Sanford in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 62-57. Can Kennebunk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
