Basketball Recap: Redmond Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Redmond hadn't done well against Eastlake recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Redmond Mustangs secured a 66-61 W over the Eastlake Wolves. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 59-49 loss the last time these two teams met.

Redmond's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sofia Locati, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Iha Kasam, who went 8 of 14 en route to 21 points.

Eastlake's loss came despite strong showings from Brooke Mccartney and Megan Roberts. Mccartney dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards, while Roberts went 6 for 13 on her way to 18 points. Mccartney is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Baumgartner, who posted six points and nine rebounds.

Redmond pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Eastlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.

Redmond has already played their next contest, a 68-53 victory against North Creek on the 22nd. As for Eastlake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 79-57 defeat against Woodinville on the 22nd.
