Basketball Recap: Shyann Mccummings' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Leesville over South Beauregard

Leesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Beauregard Knights. The Wampus Cats were probably out for revenge after losing 59-38 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leesville lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Shyann McCummings, who posted 22 points. That was a full 37.9% of Leesville's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadence Reibold, who earned 15 points.

Leesville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for South Beauregard, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Leesville will challenge Hackberry at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Leesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season. As for South Beauregard, they are taking a road trip to take on LaGrange at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
