Basketball Game Preview: Baboquivari Warriors vs. Desert Christian Eagles

The Baboquivari Warriors are taking a road trip to face off against the Desert Christian Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Baboquivari has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Last Wednesday, everything went Baboquivari's way against The Gregory School as Baboquivari made off with a 56-30 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Kara Baptisto continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 14 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. The game was her fifth in a row with at least ten points.

Meanwhile, Desert Christian had to suffer through a 45-10 loss at the hands of Willcox. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Baboquivari is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Desert Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.

Baboquivari came up short against Desert Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 39-33. Can Baboquivari avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
