Softball Recap: Altavista Comes Up Short

Altavista lost against Dan River back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Colonels lost 9-2 to the Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Colonels have lost by exactly seven runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Altavista and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Dan River, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Altavista is set to challenge their familiar foe Gretna at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dan River will square off against rival Nelson County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
