Soccer Game Preview: Sunnyside vs. Eastmont

The Sunnyside Grizzlies are taking a road trip to square off against the Eastmont Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Eastmont heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Sunnyside took over last week. Sunnyside came out on top against Moses Lake by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The win continues a trend for Sunnyside in their matchups with Moses Lake: they've now won three in a row.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Eastmont and Eisenhower meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Eastmont who was credited with the victory. Eastmont got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Eisenhower's three.

The win got Sunnyside back to even at 2-2-1. As for Eastmont, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Sunnyside came out on top in a nail-biter against Eastmont when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sunnyside since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
