Clarkrange is 0-10 against Clay County since March of 2019 but things could change on Monday. Clarkrange will host Clay County at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Clarkrange turned things around against Oakdale on Thursday. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Eagles. The Buffaloes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason McWhirter made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Clarkrange: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-5 otherwise. McWhirter was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Bo Ramsey was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. William Goodman was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Clarkrange always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Clay County got the win against Bledsoe County on Friday by a conclusive 10-3. The game marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.
Like Clarkrange, Clay County also got a great game from a two-way player: Witt Kaslikowski. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Kaslikowski has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nate Adams, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Nolan Adams, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Clay County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. Clarkrange's win bumped their record up to 3-6.
Clarkrange couldn't quite get it done against Clay County when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can Clarkrange avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
