Basketball Game Preview: Chattanooga Central Pounders vs. Soddy Daisy Trojans

Chattanooga Central is 1-7 against Soddy Daisy since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Chattanooga Central Pounders will welcome the Soddy Daisy Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Chattanooga Central is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 74-10 loss at the hands of Red Bank.

Meanwhile, Soddy Daisy entered their tilt with East Ridge on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Pioneers a 2-0 shutout. The two-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Soddy Daisy's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.2 points per game. As for Chattanooga Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Chattanooga Central was dealt a bruising 76-13 loss at the hands of Soddy Daisy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Chattanooga Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
