Soccer Recap: Golder Takes a Loss

Golder was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to the Chicago Academy Cougars. The match was a close 1-0 at the break, but unfortunately for Golder it sure didn't stay that way.

Golder's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Chicago Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-5.

Golder and Chicago Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Panthers will square off against De La Salle at 4:00 p.m. on the 20th with a big rank disadvantage (394 vs. 151). Meanwhile, Chicago Academy (ranked 212th) will meet Lane Tech (ranked fifth) at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
