Chilton had won four straight games dating back to last season and Marneko Thomas Jr. did his part to make it five on Friday. The Pirates strolled past the Goldthwaite Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 14-0 for which the team can thank Thomas Jr., who rushed for 177 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 102.2 rushing yards per game.

Chilton's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Goldthwaite, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
