Softball Recap: General Brown Triumphs

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but General Brown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indian River Wolves 7-5. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Wolves recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Raegan Burgenstock spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Raegan Sharp was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Parker, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

The win got General Brown back to even at 5-5. As for Indian River, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. General Brown will welcome Watertown at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Indian River, they will host Carthage at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
