Football Game Preview: Hudson Bluehawks vs. Johnstown Sir Bills

The Hudson Bluehawks will face off against the Johnstown Sir Bills on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hudson will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any points last Friday, then bounced right back against Coxsackie-Athens on Monday. The Bluehawks put the hurt on the Riverhawks with a sharp 34-12 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Bluehawks just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, Johnstown hadn't done well against Broadalbin-Perth recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Sir Bills pulled ahead with a 7-6 photo finish over the Patriots. The game was the first time the Sir Bills have beaten the Patriots on their field since October 14, 2016.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Johnstown, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Hudson didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Johnstown when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluehawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
