Baseball Recap: Henderson's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Henderson was the 6-3 winner over Downingtown East when they last played one another on April 1st, but their luck changed this time around. The Warriors fell 5-1 to the Cougars on Wednesday.

Henderson got a good showing from Jake Schultz, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Schultz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

Henderson's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Downingtown East, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Henderson will host Coatesville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Warriors 3.9, the Red Raiders 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Downingtown East, they will be playing at home against Bishop Shanahan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
