Volleyball Recap: Encinal Takes a Loss

Encinal had taken Alameda down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Jets fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 3-2. The Jets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Encinal took Alameda into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-14, 19-25, 18-25, 15-13.

Encinal's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-10. As for Alameda, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Encinal will face off against rival Berkeley at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Alameda is set to challenge their familiar foe Piedmont at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
