Baseball Game Preview: Talawanda Brave vs. Lebanon Warriors

The Talawanda Brave will venture away from home to challenge the Lebanon Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Talawanda is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Talawanda lost 13-2 to Harrison on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Brave have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Eddie Tanner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lebanon's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Loveland.

Vincent Strickland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Hunter Vick also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Talawanda's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Lebanon, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 9-3.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Talawanda has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lebanon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Talawanda beat Lebanon 15-11 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Brave since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
