Baseball Recap: Carver Birmingham Takes a Loss

Carver Birmingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 13-8 to Ramsay. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Ramsay this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-10 back in March.

Ezekiel Woodside put in work no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Carver Birmingham: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-10 otherwise. Woodside was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Isaiah Simon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Scott, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Carver Birmingham's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Ramsay, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.
