Softball Game Preview: Taylor Yellowjackets vs. Indian Hill Braves

For the second straight game, Taylor will face off against Indian Hill. The Yellowjackets will be playing at home against the Braves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.

Taylor's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Indian Hill as they made off with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Yellowjackets have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ellie Stafford made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Raugh, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Ferguson, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Taylor pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Indian Hill, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.
