Volleyball Recap: Cathedral Takes a Loss

Cathedral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Archbishop Williams Bishops. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Bishops when the teams met back in September of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-2, 25-7.

Leading Archbishop Williams to victory were Kate O'Toole and Emily Sullivan. O'Toole had seven aces and five digs, while Sullivan had six aces. O'Toole is also crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. Dolores Quintos also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Archbishop Williams, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Cathedral wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against St. Mary's on the 6th. As for Archbishop Williams, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Cardinal Spellman on the 7th.
