Baseball Game Preview: Elida Tigers vs. Floyd Broncos

Elida has gone 9-1 against Floyd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Elida will take on Floyd at 2:00 p.m. Elida will be strutting in after a victory while Floyd will be coming in after a defeat.

Elida is headed out to face Floyd after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Elida blew past Capitan 12-0 on Tuesday.

Radlee Ferguson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on James Dobbins, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

Floyd kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Grady, falling 23-4. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Everything went Elida's way against Floyd in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Elida made off with a 12-0 win. Will Elida repeat their success, or does Floyd has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
