Baseball Recap: Exeter Comes Up Short

Exeter lost to Selma on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Monarchs took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Monarchs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ivan Pepe was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Exeter's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6-1. As for Selma, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Exeter will challenge Hanford West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Selma, they will take on Morro Bay at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
