Baseball Recap: Lowell Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Lowell extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday, bumping them up to 12-9. They never let the Kankakee Valley Kougars get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-12 on Monday.

Not much got past Zak Scharnke, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Kankakee Valley off the board.

At the plate, Derek Rice was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

As for Kankakee Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Kankakee Valley's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Declan Murr, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lowell will venture away from home to challenge Morgan Township at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kankakee Valley, they will head out to take on Wheeler at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
