Football Recap: Palisades Starts off Right with Win over Harvard-Westlake + How To Watch

Palisades had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Harvard-Westlake Wolverines on Thursday, sneaking past 37-34. That's more bragging rights for the Dolphins, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

A big part of Palisades' victory came down to the chemistry between Jack Thomas and his top target Demare Dezeurn. Thomas threw for 410 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt while Dezeurn picked up 194 receiving yards and four TDs. Those 410 passing yards gave Thomas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was King Demethris, who picked up 94 receiving yards and one score.

Harvard-Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Palisades will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Granada Hills Charter at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Harvard-Westlake, they are taking a road trip to challenge Venice at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
