Swain County is a perfect 10-0 against Cherokee since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Maroon Devils will face off against the Braves at 4:00 p.m. Swain County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.

Swain County had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the nine-goal drubbing they dealt Blue Ridge Early College on Thursday. The Maroon Devils never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Swain County considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Their offense was hitting Blue Ridge Early College from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Mya Burrows-Kurr led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Cherokee made sure to put some goals up on the board against Hayesville on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 5-0 victory. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Cherokee yet this season.

Swain County's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matchups. As for Cherokee, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Everything went Swain County's way against Cherokee when the teams last played back in March, as Swain County made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Maroon Devils since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
