Baseball Game Preview: Burlington Red Devils vs. Wakefield Memorial Warriors

The Burlington Red Devils will head out to take on the Wakefield Memorial Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Burlington managed to slip by Melrose the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Red Devils lost 10-0 to the Red Raiders on Tuesday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Wakefield Memorial made sure to put some runs up on the board against Stoneham on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Spartans an 11-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won three in a row.

Wakefield Memorial's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Burlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Burlington skirted past Wakefield Memorial 7-5 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
