Soccer Game Preview: Clinton vs. St. Pauls

For the second straight game, Clinton will face off against St. Pauls. The Dark Horses will head out to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clinton has eight straight victories, St. Pauls has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Clinton's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on St. Pauls with a sharp 9-0 win. Clinton's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last eight matches.

Their offense was hitting St. Pauls from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Paulina Adasiak led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Clinton pushed their record up to 9-6-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five games. As for St. Pauls, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6-1.
