Carthage entered their tilt with Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.

Carthage's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Central, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Coming up, Carthage will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Glendale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will host Joplin at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
