Volleyball Recap: Mckinnley Kessler Key Part of Team Effort in Blue Devils Win

After losing to Seneca East the last time they met, Carey decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Blue Devils walked away with a 3-1 win over the Tigers on Thursday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Carey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from McKinnley Kessler, who had 19 assists and seven digs. Kessler is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 14 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bayah Harsanje, who had 14 digs.

Despite the loss, Seneca East had strong showings from Paige Strawser, who had nine digs and two aces, and Bryn Meyer, who had 23 kills, 19 digs, four aces, and one block.

Carey's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Seneca East, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Carey has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against McComb on the 4th. As for Seneca East, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Hopewell-Loudon on the 4th.
