Hawks go for their fourth straight state crown, 11th overall since 2010.
The 2021 high school football season in Rhode Island kicks off next week and MaxPreps has your look at the state's top teams. After rolling to its third straight state title and 10th since 2010, Bishop Hendricken (Warwick) is back to claim the top spot in our preseason rankings.
The Hawks outscored opponents 209-67 en route to a 7-0 record during the pandemic-shortened season. They finished off the season with a 43-22 win over La Salle Academy (Providence) in the Power Four I title game to win their 23rd consecutive game overall.
Bishop Hendricken recorded two shutouts en route to the title and three other times it allowed one touchdown or less.
Rhode Island postponed the fall season to the spring due the pandemic. Other defending state champions are Central (Division 1), Barrington (Division 2), Coventry (Division 3) and Narragansett (Division 4).
