Basketball Recap: Manassas Comes Up Short

Manassas lost against Booker T. Washington back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Manassas Tigers had to suffer through a 43-13 loss at the hands of the Booker T. Washington Warriors. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-4.

Booker T. Washington was led to victory by Leanna Carpenter and Antaniya Britt. Carpenter went 5 of 8 on her way to 16 points and four steals, while Britt went 5 for 6 to rack up 13 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. Booker T. Washington is 4-2 when Britt posts five or more steals, but 8-9 otherwise. Malia Johnson was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

Manassas' defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Booker T. Washington, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Manassas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Booker T. Washington, they will square off against Douglass at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Booker T. Washington is facing Douglass at the right time seeing as Douglass is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
