Softball Recap: Braxton County's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Braxton County had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by an 18-10 margin over the Poca Dots on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-14 back in March.

Braxton County got a massive performance out of Rion Given, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with nine stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those nine stolen bases gave Given a new career-high. Alexis Dehaven was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Braxton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Braxton County picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-11. As for Poca, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, Braxton County will take on Lincoln at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Poca, they will challenge Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
