Basketball Game Preview: Tiverton Tigers vs. North Providence Cougars

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Tiverton Tigers take on the North Providence Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday...

On Wednesday, Tiverton lost to West Warwick on the road by a 67-52 margin.

Meanwhile, North Providence had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 66-50 win over the Saints. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked second, while the Saints are ranked 36th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tiverton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for North Providence, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.

Tiverton couldn't quite finish off North Providence in their previous meeting back in February of 2022 and fell 2-0. Can Tiverton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
