Football Recap: Natomas Takes a Loss

Natomas managed to slip by Rio Linda the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Nighthawks lost 33-12 to the Knights on Friday. The loss leaves the Nighthawks still looking for their first win of the season.

Joseph Corey produced another solid performance rushing for 211 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry for Rio Linda. Corey's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards. CJ Cook made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Natomas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Rio Linda, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Natomas has already played their next game, an 18-13 loss against El Camino on the 26th. As for Rio Linda, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Casa Roble at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. The Knights will need to watch out since the Rams have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
