Baseball Recap: Poolville Starts Season with Win Against Tioga

Poolville had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Tioga Bulldogs. This was payback for the Monarchs, who suffered a 16-9 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jace Frost made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and only a hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Frost was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Berry, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Poolville will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Millsap at 4:45 p.m. on March 8th. As for Tioga, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against Lindsay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
