Baseball Game Preview: Western Reserve Roughriders vs. Edison Chargers

Western Reserve hasn't had much luck against Edison recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Roughriders will head out to challenge the Chargers at 12:00 p.m.

Western Reserve lost 9-1 to Margaretta on Thursday. The Roughriders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Edison came tearing into Friday's contest with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Redskins 11-1. Considering the Chargers have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Edison's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Western Reserve, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Western Reserve might still be hurting after the 8-0 loss they got from Edison when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Roughriders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
