Softball Recap: Bishop Stang Takes a Loss

Bishop Stang was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 11-2 to the Bishop Fenwick Crusaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-0 back in April.

Alaina Chase spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Ava Texeira was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Madisyn Blanchard also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bishop Stang's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Bishop Fenwick, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

Coming up, Bishop Stang will face off against New Bedford at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bishop Fenwick, they will welcome Peabody Veterans Memorial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
