Recap: Show Low Cougars vs. Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets
In what's become a running theme this season, the Show Low Cougars gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Blue Ridge 44-15 at home. Given Show Low's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Blue Ridge is ranked 52nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Aubrie Wilson, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Grace Moore, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Show Low pushed their record up to 26-2 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Blue Ridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Show Low will take on Winslow at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Winslow focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 last Friday. As for Blue Ridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Snowflake at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
