Basketball Recap: Masterman Comes Up Short

Masterman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers and fell 65-38. Masterman was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Philadelphia Academy Charter apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2015.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Philadelphia Academy Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordan Benzenahfer, who went 8 for 18 on his way to 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Benzenahfer has scored at least a third of Philadelphia Academy Charter's points. Dominic Prybella was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 13 points.

Masterman's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Masterman wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-37 defeat against Thomas A. Edison on the 31st. As for Philadelphia Academy Charter, they will take on Paul Robeson at 3:15 p.m. on February 6th. Paul Robeson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
