Softball Recap: Patterson Mill's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Patterson Mill was the 4-0 winner over John Carroll when they last played one another back in May of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Patterson Mill fell just short of John Carroll by a score of 7-5 on Monday. The match marked Patterson Mill's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Savannah Reedy was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Knight, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Having lost for the first time this season, Patterson Mill fell to 4-1. As for John Carroll, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Patterson Mill will head out on the road to take on Harford Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for John Carroll, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Archbishop Spalding at 4:00 p.m. Archbishop Spalding's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so John Carroll's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
