Baseball Recap: Delta Takes a Loss

Delta's last matchup with Golden Sierra could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Thursday. The Delta Saints came up short against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 last Tuesday.

Delta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Barrett, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Barrett is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Delta and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Golden Sierra, their win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0.

Coming up, Delta will venture away from home to face off against Foresthill at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Delta has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Golden Sierra, they will be playing at home against San Juan at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
