Baseball Recap: Mica Mountain Comes Up Short

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Mica Mountain was a bit more limited in their matchup on Monday. They came up short against the Salpointe Catholic Lancers, falling 10-2.

Mica Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Hunt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Mica Mountain's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-7-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 2.75 runs. As for Salpointe Catholic, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 8-0-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mica Mountain is set to take on their familiar foe Ironwood Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Salpointe Catholic will square off against rival Walden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Salpointe Catholic 2.1, Walden Grove 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
