Volleyball Recap: East Falls Short Against Ranked Douglas

East faced Douglas in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Thunderbirds fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 2-1. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their offense was headlined by Karley Schuessler and Madi Jackson, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Charli Cameron and her 15 assists. Mckenna Waters controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kendrie Ewing, who had six digs and two aces.

East now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Douglas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Riverton on the 26th. As for Douglas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Evanston on the 26th.
