Soccer Recap: Sharon vs. Hickory
Sharon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hickory Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Hornets are ranked 148th).
Sharon's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hickory, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sharon will play host again on Monday to welcome Erie, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Erie is coming into the contest with three straight wins on the road, so Sharon will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Hickory, they will take on Slippery Rock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hickory is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.3 goals per game this season.
