Softball Recap: Sequim Takes a Loss

Sequim extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They lost 17-7 to the Olympic Trojans. If the Wolves were looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to the Trojans when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Olympic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Olympic's part, Sophia Brown made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). Brown has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Emerson Duncan was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Maiyah Marner, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sequim will head out to face off against Kingston at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Olympic, they will venture away from home to square off against Stadium at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
