Parker of Birmingham advances to Class 5A Area 10 title game behind Keith Body game-winner with 1:10 remaining.

In what was likely the lowest-scoring game of the 2020-21 high school basketball season anywhere in the country, Parker (Birmingham) topped Carver (Birmingham) 6-4 – yes, 10 total points – in an Alabama playoff contest Wednesday night, advancing to the Class 5A Area 10 championship. Parker senior Keith Body broke a 4-4 tie with 1:10 remaining, knocking down a contested jumper from a few feet away from the basket to secure the stall-ball victory.

"We came out in a zone (defense) and they held it out," Parker coach Reginald McGary told al.com. "Sometimes you do that to make sure the other team comes out of the zone, but we came out of the zone and they still held it."

Parker swept two meetings between the teams in the regular season, winning by 19 in early December and nine last month. Carver had lost each of its last three outings by 20 points or more.
Parker also played the slowdown game throughout the contest, holding on to a 4-2 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Carver's Levente Woodside tied things up early in the final quarter.

According to reports, Parker then held the ball outside the Carver zone for several minutes until Body's game-winner.

Coming into the game Carver was averaging 66 points per game this season while Parker averaged 52.

Parker moves to 12-8 on the year and advances to face Ramsay (Birmingham) in the Area 10 title game Saturday night.
