Recap: Mitchell County Eagles vs. Miller County Pirates
The Mitchell County Eagles fell victim to the Miller County Pirates''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Pirates 41-0. Mitchell County can't seem to catch a break and have yet to win any of their eight games.
Leading Miller County to victory were Tj Grant and JP Powell. Grant rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, while Powell rushed for 131 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.
Mitchell County's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. As for Miller County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell County will take on Randolph-Clay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Randolph-Clay is ranked 393rd, while Mitchell County is ranked 400th). As for Miller County, they will stay at home for another week and welcome Baconton Charter at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Baconton Charter is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
