Basketball Game Preview: Lakewood Gators vs. Crestwood Knights

Lakewood is 0-10 against Crestwood since January of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

On Tuesday, Lakewood lost to South Florence on the road by a 53-38 margin. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after only 23 points in their last matchup, Crestwood made sure to put some points up on the board against Hartsville on Tuesday. Crestwood narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Hartsville 56-54. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Lakewood's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Crestwood, their win bumped their record up to 7-12.

Lakewood ended up a good deal behind Crestwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 51-36. Can Lakewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
