Basketball Recap: Green Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Green Valley had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Valley Vikings out 57-54. This was payback for the Gators, who suffered an 81-68 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Green Valley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Santana, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. The dominant performance gave Santana a new career-high in points. Lamarcus Carter was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Green Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Valley, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-12.

Green Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-46 win against Desert Oasis on the 17th. Valley has also already played their next game, a 70-66 victory against Bonanza on the 22nd.
