Basketball Recap: Brayden Leija's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Teague over Buffalo

Teague was the 56-28 winner over Buffalo when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Teague Lions took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffalo Bison on Tuesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Teague lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brayden Leija, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Leija a new career-high in assists (four). Another player making a difference was Zak Leija, who posted ten points.

Teague's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Buffalo, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-10.

Teague and Groesbeck will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buffalo will take on Westwood in a holiday battle at at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Westwood knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Buffalo likes a good challenge.
