Basketball Recap: Denver South's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Vista PEAK Prep came into Tuesday's contest looking for another win against Denver South, but Dominic Rhoades-Martinez wouldn't allow it. The Denver South Ravens came out on top against the Vista PEAK Prep Bison by a score of 71-60 on Tuesday thanks in part to Rhoades-Martinez, who went 9 of 17 en route to 25 points in addition to five assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Shepherd, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. What's more, he also racked up six assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Vista PEAK Prep had strong showings from Mitchell Oliver, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 17 points, and Marquilos Mata, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Larry Mosley, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Denver South, bringing their record for this year to 9-2. As for Vista PEAK Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Denver South has already played their next game, a 78-61 loss against Rangeview on the 17th. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 65-60 defeat against Denver East on the 17th.
